Program Overview – Employment Services, Community Programs
Integrated Employment Services at WoodGreen is a high-performance team that improves communities, families and individual lives through effective access to employment. Working at a local Integrated Employment Services Centre or other sites in the City of Toronto, they rapidly help high-need jobseekers obtain quality, sustainable employment. The employment needs in the City of Toronto are intense, and our staff bring compassion, energy, focus and skill to address these needs in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. WoodGreen’s staff are supported by caring managers, training, tools, procedures, and systems for success. We aim to have the best jobseeker client experience and outcomes available in Canada, and our Integrated Employment Services team is a cornerstone of this success.

What You Will Do

  • Provide job coaching, conduct intake assessments, develop Personal Action Plans, and provide one on one pre-employment support and employability skills guidance to job seekers.

  • Schedule, prepare, update, and facilitate job search workshops, special events, and curriculum according to the goals of the program and clients’ needs utilizing a variety of multimedia tools.

  • Develop excellent relationships with community partners providing services to youth, OW and ODSP case workers, and colleges and Universities programs to ensure all external partners are aware of start dates and refer to the program on job coaching to support successful work experiences/placement activities.

  • Assist in tracking all program activity related to intake data, participation, milestones, outcomes, stipends, wage subsidy, and other required information

  • Document client/employer files, case management, conduct appropriate and regular follow-up activities with program participants, and maintain client activity service statistical and financial information for monthly reports.

  • Assess employment and stabilization needs of clients, establish realistic short- and long-term goals to address employment, develop employment action plans identifying next steps required to meet employment goals and employment outcome targets, and refer to other appropriate services in the community as required.

  • Exceed all other required contractual, client and/or agency requirements.

  • Work in collaboration with the Employment team ensuring optimum client service.

  • Assist with administration, marketing, other duties as required to support the strategic plans.

  • Follow all agency Health and Safety Policies and procedures.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Sales, Marketing or a related field of study.
  • Experience in group facilitation and/or career counseling (assessments, job search, job development, workshop facilitation).
  • Extensive knowledge of pre-employment supports methods, re-training opportunities, and Labour market information and resources.
  • Knowledge and/or connections with community resources and supports available for youth.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity while facilitating workshops and providing individual employment coaching support to youth with employment barriers.
  • Desire to work in a multicultural setting and possess sound decision making and judgment skills.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, presentation skills and sales skills.
  • Advanced skills utilizing all Microsoft Office Applications and Databases and the ability to quickly learn new software and programs.
  • Well organized, team player who takes initiative, manages change and can prioritize/multi-task targets or deadlines.
  • Crisis Intervention and First Aid Certified is considered an asset.
