Utility Mobile Fleet Mechanic - Victoria
Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Victoria DO
Employment type: Permanent Region: Vancouver Island
Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Field
Hourly Rate: $ 51.35
What you'll do
- The Mobile Truck and Transport Vehicle Tradesperson is a Truck and Transport Vehicle Tradesperson who normally
works alone in regions where travel is regularly required and shall generally perform the duties of their trade in a safe and
efficient manner.

These duties shall include the repair, maintenance, modification and commissioning of vehicles and equipment.
-
In addition, a Mobile Truck and Transport Vehicle Tradesperson duties and responsibilities shall include work order
creation, scheduling, ordering parts/materials and coordinating maintenance and repair of vehicles within their region,
including working with user groups and vendors.
What you bring

As per IBEW collective agreement.

British Columbia Trades Qualification (BCTQ) or Interprovincial Red Seal in Commercial Transport (or Truck & Transport)
or Heavy Duty Mechanics
-
A valid B.C. driver's license Class 3 with air brake endorsement or Class 3 learner's permit and Air Brake endorsement.
-
BC Hydro Fleet Utility Certification or equivalent would be an asset.
-
Maintenance / repair and operational experience with digger derricks, cranes, material handling aerial devices and
personnel lifts is essential.

This position is affiliated with the international Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union (IBEW local 258) www.ibew258.bc.
ca
- A valid B.C. driver's license Class 3 with air brake endorsement or Class 3 learner's permit and Air Brake endorsement is
required.

This is a Mobile position and work hours will vary in accordance with the IBEW 258 agreement

A written exam covering technical, safety and administrative skills may form part of the selection process

A condition of employment for this job is that you maintain the following requirements in good standing:
Driver's License Type = Class 3 and Air Brake endorsement.

Compliance with BC Hydro Safety Rules and Regulations.

Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVI) Authorized Inspector Certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
Please be advised that this role has been assessed as safety sensitive and pre-qualification alcohol and drug testing will be
required as a pre-condition to employment.
