About the role

Your Opportunity:

The Clinical Content, Compounding and Repackaging Team (CCCNR) supports worksheet and formulation development (including mapping), for repackaging, non-sterile and sterile compounded products. As well, CCCNR supports the creation of adult and pediatric treatment plans used within Beacon/Cancer Care. Applicants will also maintain an active clinical practice monthly. The pharmacist manages medication therapy for AHS patients in which he/she, both initially and on an ongoing basis, assesses patients for potential or actual drug-related problems and working within a collaborative team environment, intervenes to resolve or prevent drug-related problems in order to optimize patient outcomes.

Description:

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.

Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years experience in a hospital (or similar institution) pharmacy providing compounding and repackaging services, including the provision of chemotherapy medications. Familiarity with current compounding and repackaging practices within AHS Pharmacy Services. Understanding of stability and sterility guidelines, experience completing reference reviews and applying findings in the creation of compounding formulations and/or worksheets. Strong computer skills including training and/or experience with: Epic, Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook and SharePoint). Adaptability and ambiguity tolerance. Ability to navigate evolving environments and changing information. Problem solving skills. Capable of making sound decisions using available data and clinical judgment. Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams, including (but not limited to): Clinical and Technical Practice Medication Quality and Safety Informatics, Performance and Analytics Procurement & Inventory Contracting, Procurement and Supply Management (CPSM) Drug Information Zone Operations Strong verbal and written communication skills tailored to varied audiences. Ability to prioritize workload and multiple projects on an ongoing basis to meet the needs of a dynamic work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Min 6 mnths recent experience on the CCCNR team Experience completing reference reviews & applying BUDs Familiarity with chemotherapy compounding & repackaging practices, embedded worksheets Familiarity with treatment plans & protocols used in Beacon Project management training or equivalent experience Experience in zonal or provincial initiatives Completion of: change management education; Introduction to LEADs in a Caring Environment Membership with a pharmacy professional organization
