Position Summary
The Social Work Consultant will work as a member of the Specialized Learning Supports school-linked teams to provide clinical intervention to support the psycho-social functioning of Kindergarten through Grade 12 students. The Social Work Consultant will also coordinate the Division's Critical Incident Support Services (CISS) response team, who provides support for students and staff after an unexpected or critical incident.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

conducting assessments including reviewing student records and conducting psycho-social interviews with at-risk students and their families

counselling students and families to address specific issues including anxiety, self-esteem, bullying and trauma or grief
-
providing referral services to additional Division resources or to external social services, medical or community agencies

supporting the activation and coordination of CISS teams to respond to students and/or staff when critical incidents impact the safety, health and well-being of the school community
-
being available on call evenings and weekends to support CISS inquiries and the activation of the CISS team facilitating debrief sessions with CISS team members as well as reviewing, documenting, tracking and compiling CISS response activities and service hours
Education/Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Work

registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers

a minimum of three years of social work practice in a school or related environment including experience providing leadership, coordination, or mentorship within multidisciplinary teams or support services
-
excellent communication, collaboration and consulting skills
Rate of Pay
$50.99 - $65.21 per hour
