Job description
We are seeking a Senior Study Manager to lead a complex mill upgrade at McClean Lake. This role is critical in ensuring the expanded milling capacity is technically robust, economically viable, and fully aligned with the long-term mine production plan, including ore feeds from current and future deposits such as Cigar Lake, McClean Lake, Midwest, and beyond.
You’ll lead the technical and project integration for the mill expansion, aligning inputs across mining, process, operations, and project delivery to develop an optimized and executable plan.
At Orano Canada, you are part of the global clean energy transition. Our uranium fuels safe, low-carbon nuclear power, supporting climate goals with a strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and community. Working at Orano means you’ll be doing work that matters.
Dare to do something different.
Dare to Take Action. Contribute to clean energy while gaining full lifecycle experience on world-class Saskatchewan uranium projects—backed by Orano Group’s global expertise.
Dare to Care. Safety isn’t just a priority, it’s who we are. We put our people first. No compromise, we aim for the highest standards.
Dare to Invest. We’re investing in the future of Saskatchewan and we create careers that matter. Invest in your future.
Dare to Belong. Here, your contributions matter. Enjoy the security of a global leader with the close-knit feel of a Canadian team.
Dare to Innovate. Join experts driving innovation in processing, tailings, and environmental performance. We need bold thinkers to guide the way.
For engineers seeking impactful, globally connected work in the clean energy sector, Orano Canada is an exciting choice.
What you’ll accomplish:
- Provide leadership and coordination for the McClean Lake mill expansion project, ensuring alignment from scope definition to study completion and consistency with long-term mining strategies
- Oversee consultant engagement from scope development to contract award
- Direct and collaborate with external engineering consultants and internal subject matter experts
- Encourage open, collaborative discussions between Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, SHEQ, Regulatory, and corporate teams
- Identify and lead trade-off studies, value engineering, and sensitivity analyses to strengthen the project's investment justification
- Integrate inputs from Mining, Metallurgy and Process Engineering teams to support key decisions (e.g., capacity upgrades, process flowsheets, reliability, and eco-design)
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor study budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Ensure alignment with Orano’s project governance, risk management, and Operational Excellence frameworks
- Prepare and deliver high-quality technical reports, presentations, and study updates tailored to support and engage internal stakeholders and joint venture partners, and diverse audiences

-
A customized onboarding experience upon your arrival
-
A welcoming environment and great coworkers
-
A competitive salary and benefits package
-
Training and Development opportunities throughout your career
-
Fitness equipment available for use on work / camp premises
-
All of the advantages of a large group while maintaining the dynamics of a smaller company: career advancement opportunities, social committee, interesting projects and opportunities to get involved in our strong commitments to communities.
