JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for an engineer with experience in aircraft engine development or maintenance/repair to work on special projects. The Global FTAI innovation team is currently working on multiple technical projects in areas such as engine performance modeling and optimization, development of repairs, design of parts, assemblies, prototypes…

Responsibilities:

The innovation engineer will:

  • Lead or provide support on innovation projects
  • As required, conduct preliminary design review
  • Provide expertise and support on innovation projects and to the team
  • As required, be responsible for experimental design and testing
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams on projects, innovation projects collaborators are located across all FTAI Aviation global sites
  • Collaborate with innovation project external suppliers such as university, research centers, engineering services and manufacturing companies

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, aerospace, or other relevant engineering degree
  • 5 to 10 years of technical experience with aircraft engine development, aero derivative engines, or maintenance, repair, and overhaul of engine components
  • Thrives in dynamic settings where project parameters are still forming, and success depends on proactive problem-solving and collaboration
  • Experience with aircraft propulsion and engine systems
  • R&D and design experience is considered an asset
  • Test cell experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Fluent English, French is a plus
