Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automated Machine Operator to join our Packaging department at Voortman. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of machinery, ensuring quality packaging of our products and adhering to safety standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence in food manufacturing processes. This position works on a weekly rotating shift between days, afternoons and nights.

Duties

• Responsible for Automated Packaging Equipment (Robotic Packing & Case-Packers)
• Inspecting the line/case-packer
• Loading cartons/trays onto the magazine and/or tray dispenser
• Clearing tray jams within the Autocase Packer
• Operating controls for start-ups, stops and product changeovers, etc.
• Changing required parts when producing different cookies and making machine adjustments
• Cleaning Autocase Packer/robotic equipment equipment
• Assisting with manual packing duties when line is not operational
• Ensuring the work area is kept clean and clear
• Working in a safe and efficient manner
• Completing all required documentation

Experience

• Previous experience operating automated or robotic packaging equipment in a manufacturing or food production environment (minimum 1–2 years preferred)
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic adjustments or part changes
• Familiarity with product changeovers, machine start-ups/stops, and equipment cleaning procedures
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized processes and safety protocols
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with physical demands, including standing, lifting, and repetitive motion
• Experience with documentation and production records related to packaging or quality checks
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety standards is an asset
• Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts (days, afternoons, and nights on a weekly basis)
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with teammates and supervisors

Pay: $22.97-$25.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
