Job Description

CEDA is currently seeking Labourers for the Clarabelle Mill North Mine in our Sudbury, ON location! If you’re looking for a company that will give you the opportunity to learn and gain experience on pieces of equipment like vacuum trucks and high pressure water jetting units, apply today!

What We Offer:

  • $28 - $32 per hour for above ground work, $5 premium for the work underground
  • CEDA benefits and pension matching programs
  • Shift work will be required, typical shifts are below:
    • Underground Cleaning – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 4:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Above Ground Cleaning – Tuesday, Wednesday, possible weekends from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Skill development and opportunity for growth
  • Work scopes will be cleaning around belts and equipment, but will involve a variety of other tasks from one day to the next – there is always a new challenge
  • Be a part of a true team. Our work is difficult but we get it done safely, with great people

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the operation of high pressure water equipment and various specialty tools
  • Work safely at heights in a labor intensive capacity as required
  • Work safely underground using industrial cleaning equipment – our experienced crew has your back
  • Ensure safety for all team members and property
  • Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision
  • Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Complete minor maintenance and checks on equipment
  • Complete required paperwork for unit pre-trip, inspections, job reports and safety documents
  • Challenge your eye for detail, practice what we preach. Take your time, get the job done right the first time and safely every time
  • Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications

  • Valid Class G driver’s license with no more than 5 demerits in the last two years
  • 1+ years experience in an industrial/mine environment is an asset but not required
  • Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Ability to travel throughout Ontario (flexibility in scheduling is required)

Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment

  • Experience and comfort with confined spaces

  • Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)

  • Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment and air supply; wearing a full face mask and carrying your own source of oxygen

  • You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
