About the role

Manitoba First Nations School System is seeking a qualified and dedicated Teacher/Principal to join Fox Lake School.

About Us Fox Lake School is Nursery to Grade 8 with approximately 32 Students. The school integrates traditional Cree language and culture programs that help students succeed academically and personally. Language and culture are deeply valued and prominently featured in annual community events.

Location: Fox Lake Cree Nation is located near the Nelson River in northern Manitoba. It is road accessible year-round. Fox Lake Cree Nation has a registered population of 1,357 with an on-reserve population of 183 (ISC, Aug 2024).

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor school staff
  • Develop and deliver engaging curriculum
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and community members
  • Participate in cultural activities and events

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education
  • Certificate in School Leadership is an asset
  • Valid Manitoba Teacher Certificate
  • Experience working with Indigenous students preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to ongoing cultural learning
  • Eligible to work in Canada

Salary Range: Salaries commensurate with verified classification and years of experience from Manitoba Education, Professional Certification Unit. Salary Range: $63,640. - $110,723.57 plus admin. allowance.
