Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years relevant experience within the Pavement Marking or Road Construction industries is required Co-op experience will also be considered
- Valid Class G Drivers License
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, JDE, Heavy Job and Spec Rite Monitoring
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with remote staff
- Availability to travel as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control
- Surveying experience
- Ability to work well with a small team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Supervisorial experience an asset
Day in the Life This is a seasonal position based out of the Scone Miller Line Marking Office. The main responsibilities of this role include supporting the Estimator/Project Coordinator and assisting with pre-marking and logging highways. This involves assisting in implementing and monitoring quality control, safety, and environmental programs. You will also be responsible for performing quality control activities in the field to ensure adherence to contract requirements. Additionally, you will act as a resource to the site by providing inspection, supervision, and technical support.
Other responsibilities include assisting in making and adhering to work schedules, reviewing timesheets for accuracy, processing invoices for accounts payable and completing MTO reports. In this role you will work closely with subcontractors, project coordinators and other members of the operational leadership team.
You will need to liaise with subcontractors and consultants on the field constantly, negotiate quantities, and review payment certificates. It is important for you to understand the scope of the contract by reading specifications and interpreting drawings. You should be able to recognize when work is additional to the contract. and conduct quality audits by identifying, documenting, and providing solutions for Non-Conformances (NCRs), Corrective Action Requirements (CARs), and Preventative Actions (PARs).
