Enorth Media is partnering with the city of Stratford to create NextStrat - a new youth esports gaming lounge within the City of Stratford. Designed to provide a safe, engaging space for local youth to connect through gaming. The lounge has a mission to inspire the next generation of gamers and industry professionals by offering high-quality esports gaming experiences, coaching, esports
opportunities, and community events.
We believe in creating an inclusive environment where youth can develop technical skills, build positive relationships, and explore potential career pathways in esports, gaming, and tech.
Enorth Media is looking for a responsible and enthusiastic Esports Gaming Lounge Coordinator to oversee the new youth esports space in Stratford. This person will manage daily operations, create a welcoming environment, and help local youth connect through gaming in a positive, supportive setting.
Work Performed
● Manage daily operations including opening and closing procedures
● Supervise and coordinate volunteer team members
● Maintain gaming equipment and perform basic troubleshooting
● Organize and run tournaments, workshops, and special events
● Create a welcoming atmosphere for all participants
● Keep track of bookings and timeslots
● Communicate with parents and community partners
● Support new players through demonstration of game play
● Ensure safety protocols are followed
● Manage the space during external programs and workshops
● Maintain daily records and reports
● Keep the gaming area clean and organized
Qualifications
● Secondary School Diploma
● Genuine enthusiasm for esports, gaming and youth development
● Basic knowledge of Google Suites or similar software
● Basic technical understanding of PCs, consoles, and gaming equipment
● Excellent communication and people skills
● Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently
● Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
● Experience working with youth
Specialized Skills, Abilities, Training, License, Memberships, or Certifications
● Comfortable with basic PC and console troubleshooting
● Able to manage simple technical issues (rebooting systems, reconnecting
equipment, resetting modems, etc.)
● Familiar with popular games and gaming platforms
● Basic understanding of equipment care and maintenance
● First Aid and CPR Certification or willing to obtain
● Valid Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sectors search
Hours of Work
● 20-30 hours per week
● After-school hours (approximately 3pm-9pm) and weekends.
