About the role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and adaptable Project Technician to join our team in Cranbrook, BC. This full-time, salaried role offers a dynamic mix of fieldwork and administrative responsibilities, supporting quality assurance, material testing, safety compliance, and customer service. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external clients to ensure our concrete and aggregate products meet the highest standards.

What you bring:
- A post-secondary diploma in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in concrete, aggregates, construction, or a related industry.
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Experience in QA/QC, material testing, or a similar technician role (asset).
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and professional writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project) and Adobe PDF.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and POS transactions (asset).
- Knowledge of aggregates and ready mix concrete (asset).
- A strong commitment to safety and compliance standards.
- Flexibility and openness to evolving job responsibilities and business needs.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
This role involves a range of job duties, which include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities to maintain required standards.
- Perform and record material testing to verify adherence to specifications.
- Analyze test results to identify areas for improvement and communicate findings.
- Maintain accurate records of internal and external quality tests for ready mix and aggregates.
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates, resolving concerns, preparing accurate quotes, and conducting site visits as required.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and on time, including AP/AR entries in ERP systems.
- Administer safety documentation using SiteDocs and support safety initiatives such as monthly inspections, toolbox talks, safety statistics reporting, and the annual spring startup meeting.
- Perform safety assessments and reviews, job assessments, and safety document reviews as required.
- Manage the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) program to ensure accessibility and compliance.
- Coordinate with the Corporate Safety Advisor to complete necessary documentation, assessments, and reviews.
- Maintain up-to-date employee training records and coordinate identified training needs.
- Support operational functions, including job costing, invoicing, data management, and providing coverage for the Operations Coordinator when needed.
- Assist customers with retail product information and process transactions efficiently using the POS system.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational efficiency, safety, and production timelines.
