The Ultra manufacturing function is responsible for the manufacture, integration and test of a wide range of products and systems providing innovative capabilities for our customers. This role manages Production Supervisors that are responsible for managing the daily manufacturing operations. Implements policies and procedures to ensure volume, quality and cost goals are met. Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports.
Nationality Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.
Job Description
The Production Value Stream Manager is responsible for the safe, high quality and efficient manufacturing of our products at the Dartmouth facility.
- Day to day management of on time, high quality manufacture of products for customers (internal and external).
- Ensure the accurate scheduling and forecasting of deliverables.
- Resource planning on a daily/ weekly/monthly basis to ensure that appropriate levels of suitably skilled staff are available to meet all operational requirements.
- Manage production shortages in conjunction with Purchasing.
- Manage the timely resolution of technical production issues.
- Management of the Sonobuoy production budget.
- People management (performance management, engagement, learning and development) of the Sonobuoy production teams.
- Implement LEAN manufacturing systems
- Manage the planning and implementation of new product lines in collaboration of Production Engineering.
- Ensure regular communications with site trade union representatives to encourage a collaborative and positive working relationship.
- Track and report progress against objectives to the Operations Director.
- Daily/weekly meetings with the production teams.
- Provide input to the Operations Strategy and subsequent execution.
- Continuous improvement and change management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Manufacturing Engineering/Industrial Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience of high-tech production management/manufacturing management within an electronics business.
- The successful person must be able to gain the appropriate Canadian government security clearance and satisfy all requirements to be able to work on Canadian Controlled Goods projects.
