The Town of New Tecumseth is looking for Temporary Full-Time Parks Attendants.

Reporting to the Supervisor, and guided by the Senior Parks Operator, this position assists with parks maintenance, grass cutting, horticulture maintenance and Conservation area maintenance during the summer months.
Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of a positive team-oriented work environment by working co-operatively with other employees, using the appropriate process for handling problems, helping to motivate and encourage peers, contributing ideas and assisting others where necessary.
How you contribute to our organization:

Assist in an area of parks maintenance including grass cutting, changing garbage and litter pick-up, cleaning washrooms, ball diamond maintenance, horticulture and Conservation area maintenance.

Vandalism and graffiti maintenance on outdoor facilities, park equipment, and buildings.

Help maintain, repair parks and sports fields.

Groom baseball infields.
-
Maintain and till playground base materials.
-
Assists in event set up and take down as well as working as event support.

Open and maintain outdoor facilities daily.
-
Inspect and log splashpads, pavilions and skateparks daily.
-
Assists in maintenance, grooming and inspection logs for the Town’s trail systems.

Assists Parks Operators with maintenance activities.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you bring to the team:
-
Attending Post Secondary School
-
Must have a minimum Class G2 drivers licence in good standing and ability to submit a clean driver’s abstract.

Some prior work experience required. Previous grass-cutting, custodial, and/or maintenance experience would be an asset.
Pay Rate: $17.63 - $18.51, plus 4% vacation pay and optional enrolment in OMERS pension plan
Hours: 40 Hours per week
Start Date: ASAP
