Are you a litigator ready to advance your career? Whitelaw Twining is seeking a motivated and talented Litigation Associateto join our growing Victoria team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience handling insurance defence claims including bodily injury, property, coverage and professional indemnity claims. In this role, you will independently mange your own files while benefiting from the mentorship of experienced senior counsel on more complex cases. You will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a diverse range of matters, including commercial litigation, cybersecurity, transportation, employment and Indigenous law.

Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities
- Independently manage all aspects of litigation files, while receiving guidance and mentorship from senior counsel
- Conduct examinations for discovery, mediations, and chambers applications
- Assist senior counsel on complex, multi-party matters and contribute to strategic case management
- Develop and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development
- Mentor junior colleagues and foster a collaborative team environment
What will help you succeed in this role?:
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in Canada and a member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia
- Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance defence, demonstrating a solid foundation in relevant legal practices
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
What we offer:
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $128,000 - $160,000 annually; the base compensation is dependent upon year of call and relevant experience.
