YOUR ROLE
Clear client shipments and ensure merchandise is delivered. Respond to clients’ inquiries regarding customs clearance and follow up.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Preparation, customs clearance, and classification of air, ocean, and ground shipments.
- Ensure costs related to the file are indicated on the billing document.
- Ensure the delivery of merchandise.
- Comply with the laws and regulations of the different governments and the ISO standards set out by the company.
- Resource person for clients regarding customs procedures.
- Communicate with different stakeholders to offer superior service.
- Present innovative solutions to clients.
- Communicate, without delay, pertinent information and issues to the immediate supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Education and Experience:
- For all levels an attestation in collegiate studies or diploma in professional studies or equivalent and experience in customs clearance is required
- 3-5 years in customs clearance
Skills:
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
- Extensive excel experience with Adobe PDF knowledge is a plus
- Fluent in English, both written and oral
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation an asset.
Characteristics:
- Ability to learn all aspects of the team’s work, and to provide cover and assistance on a regular basis.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Self-starter, sense of urgency, communication.
- Customer focused.
