Your Impact:

As a Senior Database Administrator, you'll be at the forefront of their data strategy, with responsibilities including:

  • Designing & Deploying Advanced Solutions: Architect, engineer, and deploy solutions across a wide array of RDBMS and NoSQL database technologies , including Db2 LUW, Netezza, Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, MongoDB, as well as cloud-native services like AWS RDS and Redshift.
  • Driving Modernization & Migration: Lead the charge in migrating and upgrading existing databases to cutting-edge platforms and modern DBMS versions, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Pioneering Database Automation: Champion the adoption of DevSecOps principles by building and leveraging robust automation pipelines for provisioning, upgrading, patching, and maintaining database systems. Expertise with tools like Ansible, AWS CDK, Github Actions, Liquibase, shell scripting, and Python is key.
  • Ensuring Optimal Performance & Availability: Proactively monitor, tune, and optimize database capacity, high-availability, and performance for both non-production and mission-critical production environments, guaranteeing top-tier reliability and efficiency.
  • Fortifying Data Security: Develop and maintain comprehensive database backup and recovery strategies . You'll ensure all databases adhere to stringent security, audit, and compliance requirements, performing necessary reorganizations and maintenance.
  • Expert Troubleshooting & Innovation: Provide expert support for change requests and swiftly resolve complex problems. You'll continuously seek opportunities to improve database performance and implement innovative tuning measures.
  • Strategic Evaluation: Conduct thorough testing of upgrades and new releases of database software, assessing their impact on applications and the broader database ecosystem.
  • Critical Incident Response: Be ready to respond immediately to critical issues, with on-call and/or shift duty as required to maintain uninterrupted service.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of hands-on DBA experience , demonstrating strong proficiency in at least two of the following: Db2 LUW, Netezza, Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, MongoDB .
  • Sound knowledge of AWS cloud database services (RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB), with 1+ year of hands-on experience highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding and 1+ year of hands-on experience with Database Automation and DB DevSecOps principles (e.g., Ansible, AWS CDK, Github Actions, Liquibase, shell scripting, Python, SQL).
  • A strong grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) .
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills .
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills , with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrated in-depth team and collaboration skills , thriving in a dynamic and supportive environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience.
