Accounts Payable Coordinator (Temporary) Onsite in Markham
About the role
This is a temporary position from mid-July to December.
The Accounts Payable (A/P) Coordinator is responsible for data entry and tasks associated with disbursing non-payroll accounts payable to various entities, including individuals, suppliers, and corporations. Duties include maintaining ledgers, managing credit balances, and addressing account discrepancies. The A/P Coordinator ensures timely and accurate processing of payment documents, such as purchase orders and travel reimbursements, along with other A/P-related accounting transactions. This role also requires diplomatic interactions to provide billing information and support, facilitating daily bank reconciliations.
Requirements:
- 3 – 5 years of demonstrated accounting experience
- Familiarity with basic bookkeeping procedures
- Direct experience in an A/P capacity
- Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Able to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations
- MS Office, experience with Great Plains, QuickBooks, or NetSuite would be an asset
- Strong diplomatic, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills in order to handle late payments and delinquent accounts
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
- Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment
