The Opportunity
The Fleet Services Branch within the Ministry of Highways is currently seeking highly motivated Journeyperson Welder to work at our Prince Albert Repair Depot. Under the direction of the Shop Supervisor, you will maintain, repair, and modify all types of trucks, highway construction and maintenance equipment, light vehicles and various types of other equipment used in highway maintenance and construction.
In this position, you will:
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and advise on recommended repairs
- Repair various types of machinery both in the main shop and satellite locations as needed
- Develop or modify existing equipment to meet our internal client's needs
- Fabricate new components
- Enter and retrieve data on the computer.
- Be required to travel with the possibility of overnight stays.
Our Ideal Candidate
To qualify for this position, you will possess a valid Journeyperson Certificate in Welding recognized by the Province of Saskatchewan.
Candidates in their 3rd year of apprenticeship may also be considered. Successful applicants will hold a valid class 5 Driver's license with a class 1 or 3A considered an asset.
