Overview
The White Rock RCMP seeks a customer-service oriented individual to join their team in the Police Clerk role. This position provides clerical support to the Detachment and duties that may involve transcription of statements, preparing correspondence, querying and maintaining operational records and assisting with coverage for front counter breaks. The ideal candidate possesses both a keen eye for details, strong communication skills, an ability to provide effective service to both internal and external clients and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12, including or supplemented by office administration, UCR and CPIC maintenance courses, plus sound related experience; preferable in an RCMP Detachment;
Requirements

Experience working with PRIME RMS 8.1;

Minimum 60+ WPM;

2-3 years of related experience, preferably with the RCMP or municipal police agency;

Sound knowledge of the rules, regulations, and policies of RCMP operations, including knowledge of administrative and record keeping methods and procedures;

Working knowledge of the legislation applicable to the work;

Ability to operate applicable RCMP systems and related tasks;

Ability to read and understand occurrence files;

Ability to perform clerical and filing tasks manually and electronically;

Ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts;

Experience with Start/Stop transcription software is an asset;

Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and current office administration practices;

Must be able to obtain and maintain a RCMP Reliability Security Clearance (HRMIS).
