The Opportunity
Beyond 3:30 is a unique initiative that provides after school programming focused on healthy living and learning opportunities in the arts for middle school children, Monday-Friday in one of the places they trust the most, their local school. It supports priority communities through innovative partnering between a wide variety of local community organizations and corporations. beyond 3:30 is operating in 22 select middle-school locations across the city.
We are looking for a strong leader with a passion for youth development to join our team as a Program Supervisor . In this role, you are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the beyond 3:30 after-school program at designated school sites. Reporting to the Program Manager, this role provides direct supervision to site-based staff, ensures quality and consistency in programming, supports staff onboarding and ongoing training, and serves as the primary liaison with school communities, principals and parents.
Program Oversight and Site Support
- Supervise Site Coordinators and program staff at assigned sites, ensuring high-quality program delivery aligned with organizational goals.
- Oversee staff performance management, including conducting regular evaluations, providing coaching and feedback, and progressive disciplinary actions in accordance with organizational policies
- Oversee program delivery at assigned sites, ensuring consistency, safety, and alignment with program goals.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor program delivery and quality and compliance with organizational policies.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and on-going training of staff and volunteers.
- Oversee program planning and documentation; support the implementation of specialty and enrichment activities.
- Act as the primary contact for school principals, administrators, and families at assigned sites.
- Foster strong relationships with parents and school partners; address concerns promptly and professionally.
- Support site events and represent the program at school and community meetings as needed.
- Coordinate staffing schedules and arrange supply staff coverage
- Ensure proper incident reporting, documentation, and follow-up in accordance with internal procedures.
- Ensure staff and volunteers follow all organizational and TDSB policies, procedures and health and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate records related to staffing, programming, and volunteer involvement.
- Assist with special events at sites or off sites.
- Assist with program administrative duties
- Other duties and initiatives as assigned by the Program Manager.
Required Skills and Experience
- Post-secondary education in child and youth work, education, social services, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supervising and coordinating youth programs, with demonstrated experience in educational and recreational program planning and delivery.
- Experience in staff supervision and performance management is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for work
- Strong facilitation skills and proven ability to manage group dynamics and apply effective guidance and discipline techniques with middle school-aged youth.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning styles and from culturally diverse backgrounds, particularly in priority neighbourhoods.
- Enthusiastic, culturally competent, and committed to equity and inclusion; experience working with BIPOC communities is an asset.
- Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of the Ontario curriculum and school board operations is considered an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365; familiarity with SharePoint is an asset.
- Must have or be willing to obtain Standard First Aid/CPR and HIGH FIVE® training shortly after hire.

Founded in 1998, the Toronto Foundation for Student Success (TFSS) was created to ensure that all students are ready and able to learn. TFSS is a registered charity and provides support to the Toronto District School Board schools (TDSB) but operates independently. Our administration costs are less than 6% which allows us to invest a minimum of 94% of all funds raised in most programs and a full 100% in others.
For over 25 years, TFSS has been building partnerships with the federal, provincial and municipal governments, the TDSB, concerned corporations and foundations, other NGOs, private individuals, families, and the many diverse communities within Toronto, to draw on the enthusiasm and expertise needed to execute its programs.
TFSS acts as an advocate for students, identifying and initiating programs to deal with the hunger and poverty experienced by students and our programs have expanded over the years as the need has escalated.
In 1999, TFSS and its partners were providing 11,000 nourishing meals every day to children in need. Today, over 218,000 nutritious meals are served daily in 827 programs.
