Summary

The warehouse lead is expected to fully understand all warehouse processes to proficiently execute CES Online fulfillment center activities and standard operating procedures.

The primary warehouse activities include material receiving, material put-a-way, picking, packing, shipping, and general handling. Additionally, wire cutting, and paralleling can be a work requirement.

The warehouse lead is responsible with assisting the warehouse manager with managing all aspects of the CES Online fulfillment center’s production floor, overseeing the team’s associates, and their overall day to day activities. Additionally, the warehouse manager must quickly resolve complex situations as they arise to ensure both internal and external customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage and perform activities of employees engaged in loading/unloading, selecting, packing, shipping, receiving, and transporting merchandise as well as incoming and outgoing shipment activity; ensures efficient, accurate, and timely customer service.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination of employee training, and evaluation of warehouse employees.
  • Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing, complaints, and resolving problems. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Manages team and as a working manager fills in to help as needed.
  • Ability to fill-in for absence of a manager as well as to rotate between departments as needed
  • Provide and utilize various performance and status reports, including pull times, safety, inventory, equipment maintenance, security, and cycle counts.
  • Operate and maneuver material handling equipment and any material(s) contained thereon in the manner consistent with the intended purpose of the equipment and the manufacturers’ instructions.
  • Maintain the warehouse in an orderly and clean state; follow all company safety procedures; perform daily safety inspections (follow LEAN principles).
  • Ensure a healthy and productive work environment.
  • Identify deficiencies and/or areas of improvement and communicate to management team for resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and work effectively/efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to guide a group of employees as they complete a project. They are responsible for developing and implementing a timeline their team will use to reach its end goal.
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities to the team whom they supervise.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relations with customers, coworkers and supervisors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Individuals must have PC skills and product knowledge. In addition, must possess interpersonal skills, organizational skills, be self-sufficient, detail oriented, and have an ability to communicate effectively.
  • Preferred candidates will have electrical product and application knowledge, electrical product materials handling experience, and a background in wholesale electrical distribution.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain forklift license.
  • Ability to lift-up to 75 lbs.
  • Possess critical thinking skills and self-driven.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or bachelor’s degree preferred; five to ten years of previous warehouse experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
