Your Role
As a Level II Dental Assistant/Treatment Coordinator, your responsibilities include:
- One on one, chairside assisting the orthodontist during orthodontic procedures, including taking impressions, intra-oral photos, and radiographs.
- Perform Invisalign scans and assist in orthodontic examinations, entering data and taking appropriate clinical notes.
- Sterilize instruments in compliance with RCDSO infection control protocols.
- Educate patients and families on oral health and treatment plans using tools such as videos, presentations, and visual aids.
- Provide exceptional customer service and manage the patient experience from initial contact through ongoing care.
- Welcome new patients warmly and review their health history and treatment goals.
- Support treatment coordination by reviewing plans with patients and helping design suitable financial payment arrangements.
- Follow up with patients ready to begin treatment and liaise with referring dentists, specialists, and general practitioners.
- Assist with administrative functions, including generating consultation and recall correspondence, marketing initiatives, and monthly performance reporting.
- Maintain a flexible and collaborative approach in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
- Successfully completed a Level 2 Dental Assistant Certificate.
- NDAEB board exams written and must possess active status considered an asset.
- HARP certification.
- Previous experience working in professional sales considered an asset.
- Experience as a Treatment Coordinator is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; proficiency with orthodontic management software systems is an asset.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written), with a proven ability to build strong relationships and rapport with patients, parents, doctors, fellow team members and the community.
- Keen attention-to-detail and time management skills.
- Strong conflict resolution, problem solving and decision-making skills.
