Quality Control Inspector - Score Valves - Edmonton, AB

At Score Valves, we are seeking a Quality Control Inspector who will be responsible for strictly adhering to the organization's quality assurance policies, and identifying defects and/or production errors in order to prevent these materials from entering the supply chain.

The job description and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform relevant dimensional verification inspection (first-off, in-process, or final).
  • Ensure equipment used to verify dimensions or features are currently calibrated as per QC Master list(s). Initiate calibrations prior to the due date; continually assess tools or equipment for suitability for use. Maintain company-owned calibration master list.
  • Review and control incoming material test reports (MTRs), Vendor Reports, and special process markings to ensure our purchase order and sales order requirements have been met. Verify qualification of external examiners.
  • Perform final inspections as required by process travelers with attention to general workmanship. Ensure appropriate documentation/reports are prepared and available for relevant shipments. Include tagging/marking where necessary.
  • Initiate and follow up on all nonconformance work with associated reports. Follow-up on NCR disposition status with Engineering.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Self-motivated team player capable of managing multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker
  • Ability to manage change on the floor and work well with others
  • Ability to review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures, and design documents
  • Able to develop, review, and maintain metrics and quality audits
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong work ethic with a positive team attitude

Qualifications and Requirements: (Minimum Education and Experience)

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years Quality Management System exposure, training and or education
  • 1+ years of experience as QC Inspector in a manufacturing environment
  • Practical Hands-on experience with measuring instruments such as Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gage, Thread Gages etc.
  • Solid understanding of technical specifications and engineering drawings
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
