Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned writing professional who can combine research, creativity, and reliability to pen precisely worded, thought-provoking personal statements on behalf of our clients. Working closely with an editor and our scholarly advising team, you will be given a treasure trove of reference material in order to create original, factually accurate, and emotionally resonant responses to private school admission prompts.
Job Responsibilities
● Write and revise personal and admissions statements for clients.
● Generate copy that is informed, well-structured, passionate, and captivating
● Closely yet quickly review KEY’s client material to understand the material you’ll be working with and conduct some research into the world of private school education
● Collaborate closely with KEY personnel to ensure that all written material incorporates the insights of our academic advising team
● Be available for commissions on a weekly basis beginning in July.
This is a freelance position and work is provided on a commission basis. The faster you are able to generate finely crafted, well-informed statements, the more work we can commission with you.
Your Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Creative Writing, Journalism, or related fields, preferably from a Canadian, US, or UK university, or a comparable credential.
● Prior professional writing experience required.
● Familiarity with private schools admission and offerings is preferred.
Your Skills
● Excellent writing, researching, and editing skills.
● An adaptable authorial voice that mixes research with strong storytelling conventions.
● Genuine interest in and passion for writing about schools, children, and families.
● Self-motivated, quick learner who is easy to work and communicate with.
● Able to work with tight deadlines and meticulously follow instructions.
● Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
