Responsibilities OVERALL PURPOSE:

Supports the BCRTC Asset Management Office with development, management, and transformation of BCRTC Data. Supports the asset management system with business support, business processes associated with Asset Management software and product delivery to the business teams. Provides ongoing data and business support.

Duties And Responsibilities Data

  • Identifies, locates, documents, records, and verifies all BCRTC asset data according to defined asset data acquisition plans based on maintenance requirements, safety standards or legislated requirements, by:
  • Developing data acquisition templates, systems, tools and collection methodologies;
  • recording asset data using templates, tools and software;
  • ensuring configuration management is being practiced; and
  • compiling, reviewing, and assisting in updating and maintaining spatial data, CAD drawings, maps, reports, and other Asset Management outputs as required.
  • Leads data collection efforts for one or more asset groups by:
  • Coordinating and leading stakeholder engagement meetings and site visits to ensure data collection alignment with operational requirements;
  • evaluating and understanding departmental assets requirements, systems, and processes; and
  • organizing, scheduling, and tracking data collection progress and activities with co-workers.
  • Prepares and upkeeps asset maintenance and supply chain data by:
  • Ensuring alignment to Asset Management standards and system design;
  • compiling and maintaining data for maintenance procedures and manuals, work instructions, checklists, failure codes, star charts, closing codes, etc.;
  • developing and maintaining data for asset records, asset lifecycle, hierarchies, categories, sub-components, condition, bill of materials, etc.;
  • maintaining supply chain data including dimensional attributes of inventory, tool crib, etc.;
  • maintaining defined safety information such as hazards or personal protective equipment required for specific maintenance activities;
  • using VBA, Python, and other scripting languages to manipulate and reformat data as needed; and
  • continually improving and enhancing data quality.
  • Provides support for developing asset acquisition plans, templates, priorities, and processes by:
  • Creating asset data acquisition status reports;
  • collaborating to implement improvements; and
  • continually optimizing data collection processes.
  • Reviews and identifies data and workflow inconsistencies by:
  • Making recommendations to resolve inconsistencies;
  • coordinating updates as a result of improvements; and
  • working with the technical team to align Asset Management data design, governance, and standards.

End-User Training & Business Support

  • Uses Asset Management tools, software, and data to create reports, analysis and support maintenance planning and asset management by:
  • Providing asset data and related information upon request according to defined policies and processes;
  • applying manufacturer’s recommendations, regulatory requirements and BCRTC asset management standards to planned maintenance schedules;
  • loading annual maintenance plans and schedules into EAM;
  • creating or supporting dashboards, reports and various other outputs as required; and
  • conducting or supporting Asset Management data analysis as required.
  • Provides updates and delivers training materials in support of EAM delivery to all corporate teams by:
  • Collaborating on training design and development while validating learning objectives and training goals;
  • developing and maintaining instructional and support materials for Asset Management courses and self-guided help, including:
  • prepare power point slides;

ii. develop job aids, how-to guides and Asset Management course handouts;

iii. prepare demonstration examples and exercises;

iv. create video tutorials;

  • and other required materials.
  • introducing new or modified courses to cross-functional teams, modifying the approach or quality of delivery to earn client approval of the course and its learning outcomes;
  • delivering instructor-led classroom-style training courses to all corporate teams;
  • conducting quality assurance reviews of training content with related managers/stakeholders; and
  • recommending and updating improvements to existing curriculum and courses based on system upgrades, feedback and requirements gathering with subject matter experts;
  • Assists in scheduling and coordinating training classes and resources by:
  • Scheduling classrooms, coordinating with trainee schedules, and preparing/distributing course materials;
  • liaising with supervisors and managers to support EAM end-user ongoing training; and
  • identifying requirements for facilities, equipment, and tools for course delivery.
  • Provides first level customer service and functional support to business stakeholders by:
  • Responding to EAM-related service requests in-person, via email, over the phone or other channels;
  • triaging and forwarding requests, to the appropriate person or group, to be addressed;
  • using the appropriate tool to log, monitor, process, track and analyze incoming requests;
  • analyzing, documenting and recommending continuous improvements to support the business;
  • delivering communication updates to, and maintaining relationships with, business stakeholders;
  • providing after-hours, on-call functional business support during EAM rollout hyper care periods; and
  • ensuring all Asset Management end users can access and use the EAM software.

Business Processes

  • Learns existing business processes and translates them into EAM software workflows by:
  • Coordinating and leading stakeholder meetings understand business objectives and identify gaps; and
  • liaising with the EAM system integrator and Product Owners to identify gaps or inconsistencies and make recommendations on the development of Business Processes and Bug Fixes.
  • Facilitates the process and organizational change for business units by:
  • Defining needs and recommending technology solutions that deliver value to stakeholders;
  • collaborating with businesses to understand and translate business objectives/functions into technology enablement;
  • advocating the needs for business departments, to various EAM implementation/technology teams; and
  • researching and maintaining currency on technology products within the marketplace.
  • Participates in System Integration Testing & User Acceptance Testing for EAM software deployment by:
  • Developing scenarios and test cases to ensure EAM data and configuration meets requirements;
  • testing Asset Management software, documenting results, logging bugs and triaging issues;
  • developing new business processes as an outcome of testing results and/or creating work arounds; and
  • testing new software modules and functions.

Other

  • Performs related duties as assigned, such as items of a minor nature that do not affect the job’s value.

Qualifications EDUCATION

A university undergraduate degree in Applied Science, Science, Environment, Arts, or other related disciplines.

Experience Requires up to 3 years of hands-on experience in an industrial/utility or transportation environment with diverse and specialized infrastructure assets and systems; including experience coordinating and conducting the identification, cataloguing, geo-locating, and maintenance of assets and configurations within a regulated environment; including experience in database design and liaising with stakeholders.

Other Information Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

Work Schedule 40 hours per week.

Work Designation Resident

This position works predominately on-site

Rate of Pay Wage: $42.88 per hour

Please note: All new employees will be subject to a 6-week trainee rate at 75% of the hourly rate with the remainder of the first year at 90% of the hourly rate.
