Position Summary

BCIT’s School of Computing and Academic Studies is seeking 1 temporary, full-time (1.0 FTE) and 1 temporary, part-time (0.2 FTE) Faculty, Computer Systems Technology to teach in the Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science program.

Duties & Responsibilities

BCIT’s Computer Systems Technology and Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science departments are seeking highly talented, motivated, and qualified professionals ready for the next level and next challenge in their careers to be Instructors both at our Burnaby campus and our Downtown campus . Candidates must have strong communication skills and will be required to assume responsibilities for curriculum development and academic leadership.

Applicants with skills and industry expertise in one or more of the following areas will be given preference:

  • Digital Signal Processing
  • Computer Networks, Architecture, and Operating Systems
  • Programming (JavaScript, Java, Python, C, C# and C++)

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of current and relevant industry experience
  • Minimum related Master’s degree, PhD an asset
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for teaching Computing
  • Experience teaching topics in Computing and Software Development in a post-secondary education environment considered an asset
  • Online teaching experience considered an asset
