About the role
Summit Camps is recruiting for a casual shuttle driver based out of Prince George, BC to drive our staff and goods to remote workforce sites. We offer an inclusive work environment and competitive wages.
Primary Role: Drivers are responsible for safely and reliably transporting employees and products to and from remote workforce camp sites.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract
- Experienced driving on active logging/mining roads and using radio communication
- Basic First Aid Certificate
- Commercial driving experience preferred
- Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test prior to employment
Personal Attributes & Skills:
- Must be highly safety conscious, must follow the rules of the road, carefully
- Highly motivated to create a safe, clean and well-organized environment for employees
- Positive, flexible and professional attitude at all times
- Capable of working as part of a closely knit team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organization and time management skills
- Reliable, punctual, consistent
- Professional image with good personal hygiene
- Must be able to lift, move, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be flexible, additional trips on short notice may be required over and above scheduled trips
Responsibilities Include:
- Practice safe work procedures and rectify and/or report any safety hazards immediately
- Conduct vehicle inspections per the company schedule
- Tidy and vacuum and clean vehicle inside and out per set schedule
- Change garbage and recycling bins each trip
- Report any maintenance issues to supervisor, promptly
- Drive and pick up vehicle for maintenance and repairs at mechanic shop
- Provide a friendly, reliable driver service for employees, communicate with head office to ensure employees are accounted for.
Wage: $25/hour plus overtime, long days required
