I Have A Chance Support Services Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Addiction Counselor to join our expanding multidisciplinary team. In this vital role, you will provide face-to-face counseling and support to individuals navigating the challenges of addiction and recovery. Utilizing evidence-based interventions, you will develop personalized treatment plans, facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, and empower clients to build effective coping mechanisms and resilience. (IHACSS) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Day Options Program Coordinator to support individuals with disabilities and complex needs within our Day Options Program. Job type: Full-time

Compensation: $55,000- $58,000

Shift & Schedule: Monday to Thursday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm – Friday 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. Additional hours may be needed.

Location: Stony plain, AB.

Role Overview:

As the Day Options Program Supervisor, you will develop and facilitate programs that educate and support individuals in daily living skills, wellness, nutrition, hygiene, fund management, and healthy relationships. Your role will include advocating for clients, promoting their rights, and ensuring their safety and well-being in both home and community settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Individualized Programs: Create and implement tailored programs that address each client's unique needs, focusing on enhancing independent living skills and promoting personal growth.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Partner with a multidisciplinary team to design structured learning and wellness programs that support the diverse needs of individuals in care.
  • Support Community Inclusion: Encourage individuals to actively participate as valued members of their communities through organized outings and partnerships that foster social connections.
  • Maintain Accurate Documentation: Ensure meticulous documentation and reporting practices for individual progress, maintaining up-to-date records that reflect their needs and achievements.
  • Provide Coaching and Skill Development: Offer ongoing coaching and support to employees, fostering a positive work environment and enhancing their skills in assisting individuals in care.
  • Establish and Maintain Professional Rapport: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, community partners, and families to advocate for resources that enhance care.
  • Navigate Resources and Program Ideas: Actively seek community resources and innovative ideas for programming, incorporating enriching activities and festive events to promote engagement and enjoyment for clients.
  • Organizational and Planning Skills: Exhibit strong organizational and planning skills, preparing a program calendar in advance to ensure timely implementation of activities and manage scheduling effectively.
  • Management Skills: Demonstrate effective management skills in overseeing frontline staff, coordinating their efforts to ensure smooth transportation and engagement of clients at the facility, while providing direction and support to enhance team performance.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Health Services, Human Services, Disability Services, Special Education, Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Proven experience in developing and organizing recreation, education, and skill-building programs.
