We have a great opportunity within Treasury Services. We are seeking a highly organized Invoicing & Collections Representative.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Assistant Supervisor – Treasury Services, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting control activities for job orders and charters. In addition will also be responsible for performing various accounting functions including invoicing, collection, reporting, balancing and reconciliation associated with Accounts Receivable for various products and services which include; third party work, charters, health and group life benefits, and other miscellaneous billing.

You will Liaise with Human Resources, and Payroll and Benefit Accounting staff, to ensure the appropriateness of the invoicing and timely collection of outstanding accounts. Maintaining a follow up system to ensure timely and complete invoicing, Investigating any discrepancies on the invoice with the appropriate departments and pursuing the collection of overdue accounts by contacting customers by telephone and email, issuing statements and letters;

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

  • Completion of a post-secondary education including courses in Accounting, and relevant work experience, or the equivalent of combined work experience and education.
  • Experience with accounting (General Ledger and Accounts Receivable) principles and practices involving financial record keeping, account analysis and reconciliation
  • Requires proficiency in the use of personal computers and applications related to the work (e.g. Excel, Word,, SharePoint etc.) and good technical skills.
  • Good interpersonal and effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary to communicate issues and information internally and externally and to assist with the training and guidance of new section staff as required.
  • Must be capable of producing high volume, quality work, meet required deadlines and have the ability to handle several responsibilities, under minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with PC based accounting and reporting systems and SAP would be beneficial.
  • Must be detail-oriented; possess good analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills, and possess organizational ability to handle work assignments within established deadlines.
  • Must have, or rapidly acquire, a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees
