About the role

Gardewine is a Manitoba company, with terminals across Canada and a strong history that dates back to the 1950’s. We are currently seeking a Regio nal Manager - Southern Manitoba to join our team.

Summary Reporting to the Vice President of LTL, the Regional Manager is responsible for service and operation functions within the Gardewine/Courtesy business units within the following regions: Morden, Brandon, Neepawa, Dauphin and Swan River. This position will develop, communicate and ensure the effective implementation of operational procedures for overall customer satisfaction through quality, productivity and safety standards. This includes dealing with issues and incidents quickly and conveniently, mitigating any risks to the business and overall customer service. The Regional Manager is the direct link between terminals and head office in achieving organizational goals and objectives.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both current and potential clients.
  • Ensure service quality and delivery deadlines are met by tracking and analyzing key performance indicators.
  • Lead, train, and develop the team to drive performance.
  • Plan and optimize routes for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage, delegate, and resolve customer service issues on a daily basis.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Minimize risks by addressing and resolving business challenges.
  • Address equipment malfunctions promptly by coordinating immediate repairs.
  • Work closely with the director to manage budgets and revenue.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports.
  • Follow and enforce all relevant safety procedures and protocols.
  • Attend management meetings as requested.
  • Maintain a clean and professional working environment.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the achievement of organizational goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing, managing, and guiding terminal staff.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five to seven years of experience in distribution, logistics, and transportation at a management level is required.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities are essential for building and maintaining positive business relationships with customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills are needed to manage day-to-day operations while identifying future opportunities.
  • A hands-on management approach is necessary to promote a collaborative team culture.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and other inventory management software is required. An active AZ license is beneficial but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements

  • The role may occasionally involve operating warehouse equipment, lifting up to 50 pounds, and adjusting body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • A good sense of balance and hand-foot coordination is required.
  • The ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights is important.
  • The role may require working in varying temperatures depending on the season, and at times, operating dock equipment may be necessary.

As part of the management team, you are responsible for meeting business needs, which may occasionally require working irregular hours or adjusting your schedule.
