About the job

Reporting to the Director, Business Transformation Program, in this role you will:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define information needs, identify data gaps, improve data quality and deliver effective solutions.
  • Advise on strategies to build organizational data capacity and maturity.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation, data visualization, and performance analytics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead data-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Lead efforts to identify, catalog, and consolidate data across enterprise systems by facilitating the creation of a company-wide data catalog to serve as a “single source of truth” for key data definitions.
  • Establish and promote best practices for data classification, retention, and security.
  • Establish data governance practices, working closely with IT to define standards for data formatting, transformation, and quality.
  • Work collaboratively with IT to modernize the data architecture to enable efficient storage, retrieval, reporting, and integration.
  • Champion the development of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) flows to streamline data normalization and enable cross-functional analysis.
  • Retrieve, clean, and prepare data for analysis and reporting.
  • Monitor and audit data quality, providing recommendations to improve information integrity and accessibility.
  • Lead training initiatives to promote a culture of effective information handling and data literacy across the organization.

What you bring to the team

Technical Knowledge

You have:

  • An understanding of how information management supports broader business transformation goals
  • Knowledge of information management concepts, policies, procedures and planning processes, including the theory and principles of data architecture, modelling, administration, standards, quality assurance, performance measurement.
  • Knowledge of metadata standards and Master Data Management (MDM) practices to harmonize data across the organization.
  • Ability to design logical and physical data models that bring structure to scattered data and support integration.
  • Ability to review and analyze data and data sources to measure quality and make recommendations for improvement
  • Ability to synthesize and summarize complex data and data sets into meaningful insights.
  • Experience implementing governance frameworks to enforce data consistency, quality, and accountability.
  • Ability to propose scalable, adaptable data practices that will support growth and maturity over time
  • Proficiency with standard software programs and tools for data management and analysis (e.g., proven experience with ETL).
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

You can:

  • Review and identify information gaps, data inconsistencies and system incompatibilities.
  • Investigate complex problems and challenge assumptions.
  • Identify root causes and triaging the most impactful data problems to resolve.
  • Conduct research, identify appropriate insights, synthesize complex information, interpret data and recognize abstract patterns to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and ensure data governance.
  • Determine the most effective approach to collect, analyze and use information.
  • Assess and lead development of cost-effective information management solutions that meet client needs and improve program/service delivery.
  • Solve complex user issues with technical and process-based solutions.
  • Map current data workflows and suggesting process changes to reduce duplication, delays, or risk.

Communication and Relationship Management Skills

You have:

  • Ability to communicate, present, consult, resolve conflicts and negotiate.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive and trusting working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to mediate between stakeholders, gather business requirements, identify needs and gaps, align diverse perspectives on data definitions and build buy-in
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex information to non-technical audiences.

Project Management Skills

You can:

  • Plan and execute data projects, including developing workplans and task sequencing.
  • Manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Meet tight deadlines and deliver on expectations in an environment where fast turnaround, unanticipated events, and rapid change is expected.
  • Conduct intricate systems analysis and design, testing, implementation and training
