The Senior Manager, Learning – Advisory is responsible for leading the strategy, delivery and management of learning and development solutions for KPMG’s Advisory practice. The Senior Manager, Learning serves as a catalyst to driving best practice approaches to learning and development. This role is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a variety of learning programs: programs built and facilitated in-house, learning curriculums through vendor partners, higher education partnerships, and blended learning solutions. Learning initiatives focus on a wide range of technology / digital skills, business / technical skills, and personal / soft skills.

The Senior Manager, Learning & Development – Advisory will establish and maintain close relationships with Advisory National Leads and Advisory Service Line Leaders to best understand and meet the learning and development needs of our business

What you will do:

  • Oversee the execution of a national Advisory curriculum aimed at developing a consistently high performing team with strong consulting capability
    • Lead the assessment, design, development, and measurement to help Advisory team members develop key competencies aligned with Firm and Advisory strategic priorities
    • Manage operations of the learning program including budgets, vendors (including contract management in partnership with Procurement), curriculum, projects and day-to-day activities
    • Support the Advisory Service Lines on business-led learning initiatives, providing project support, counsel on best practices, and occasional facilitation.
    • Manage two direct reports, providing direction on day-to-day operations, learning solutions in the LMS (in collaboration with the Learning Technology team) and learning consultation with internal clients
    • Manage relationships with learning vendors, consultants, and external resources to ensure learning solutions are delivered as required
    • Provide data, analysis and recommendations related to assessment on learning initiatives. Provide reporting on learning, including trends and insights that will inform go forward decisions and future learning solutions.
  • Collaborate with Advisory Leadership Team to determine the Advisory Learning strategy and priorities, identifying opportunities to partner closely with the business, elevate Advisory learning offerings and continuously improve
  • Provide consultation to Advisory Partners on learning solutions and recommendations for their service lines. Address business needs, as identified through learning consulting conversations, and by incorporating leading instructional design, adult learning principles, and change management best practices
  • Proactively identify opportunities to implement external best practices and industry-leading thought leadership and learning, and collaborate with other learning professionals within KPMG Canada and globally to share best practices
  • Develop and execute on a communication strategy to drive awareness and adoption of learning solutions

What you bring to this role:

  • 8+ years of progressive professional experience with a strong foundation in at least one of the following areas: program management, adult learning design or development and leadership, preferably in a professional services or corporate environment
  • Exceptional ability to lead the development and execution of a large-scale program and projects independently, requiring strategic planning, stakeholder management, leading delivery of project team members and communication planning and execution
  • Excellent communication and relationship development skills and experience in working with senior leadership
  • Experience in learning and performance consulting and partnering with internal clients to identify, assess, design, develop, deploy and evaluate learning solutions
  • Familiarity with SAP SuccessFactors
  • Familiarity with the Degreed learning platform
  • In-depth knowledge of learning platforms such as LinkedIn Learning, Pluralsht and others Additional learning credentials / skills would be an asset, such as Adult Education certificate, training/instructional design professional credential/designation (e.g. CTDP), training workshop facilitation certifications (e.g. StrengthsFinder)
