Position Summary:

In alignment with the hospital’s mission and vision and our new Strategic Plan, “Transformative Care, Inclusive World: Holland Bloorview 2030”, the Project Manager will support a multi disciplinary team to execute an enterprise-wide data strategy, including an integrated informatics platform, that will enable the seamless, secure and compliant exchange of hospital and research data. This work will maximize the efficient flow and exchange of clinical and research data within our organization to ensure our ability to deliver on strategic commitments, including becoming a learning health system and advancing precision health.

Joining the strategy management office and reporting to the senior director of communication and strategy, the project manager will work closely with senior executives, researchers on the Information Management and Technology team and the Bloorview Research Institute to lead and implement projects directly related to our data strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project plans, including project charters, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Support executive leads to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Produce detailed reports to executive leadership team.
  • Support cross-functional teams, including decision support, health information management, research, strategy, clinical operations management and clients and families to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Communicate effectively with knowledge holders/users, including the executive leadership team, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues.
  • Identify, monitor and manage project risks to minimize impact on project outcomes and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Inform and oversee regular reviews and testing to ensure system functionality and performance.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-implementation reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in health care, computer science, information technology, business administration or related field required
  • PMP certification preferred
  • 5+ years relevant clinical or operations experience including project management with a focus on IT or informatics platforms
  • Demonstrated high level of initiative, self-direction, flexibility and ability to adapt to change required
  • Excellent facilitation skills with experience facilitating large group sessions that include diverse groups of management, professional staff and clients and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex initiatives and to implement projects within established timeframes and targets required
  • Proven capability to work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external groups and teams, manage relationships, and influence a wide range of knowledge users/holders
  • Proven ability to facilities organizational change, change management skills and training is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and prioritize competing workload demands
  • Well-developed verbal, written, and presentation skills
