As a Clinical Dietitian with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:
- Work in a team based environment and provide clinical dietetic services to patient care programs through the assessment, planning, implementing and outcome evaluation of nutritional goals and care plans.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Current full registration as a Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
- Registration with Restricted Activities A and C for designing, dispensing and/or administering therapeutic diets through enteral means as set out in the College Bylaws.
- Two (2) years’ recent, related clinical experience in a medical/surgical care setting.
- Valid BC drivers license. Travel requires use of a personal vehicle for which mileage will be reimbursed. Unless specified in the posting.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Broad knowledge of clinical dietetic theory and practice within a client and family centred model of care.
- Broad knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for clinical practitioners established by the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
- Broad knowledge of enteral nutrition.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement nutrition care plans in relation to client/family priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with conflict situations.
- Demonstrated ability to adjust to new or unexpected events.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize work.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and to think critically.
- Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.
- Broad knowledge of research process and methodology.
- Ability to interpret, explain and apply the applicable legislation in a variety of situations.
- Ability to enforce regulatory provisions.
- Ability to secure facts through investigation and inspection while adhering to the principals of administrative law and natural justice.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal effectively with others; including the ability to work in a team and client-focused environment.
- Working knowledge of the potential nutritional needs of adults, youths, and children attending licensed care facilities such as therapeutic and texture modified diets and ability to evaluate clinical nutrition practice.
- Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety.
- Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safety care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to use a personal computer and applicable software.
Salary Details
The salary range for this position is CAD $40.75/Hr. - CAD $50.87/Hr.
