We are looking for a Primary Care Paramedic to work with our Ambulance Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork.

Position Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will perform the duties expected of a Primary Care Paramedic within Ambulance Department.

Under minimal supervision from the Chief of Paramedic Services, the Primary Care Paramedic is responsible for providing emergency patient care within legislative and provincial guidelines as a Primary Care Paramedic.

Qualifications:

  • Primary Care Paramedic Diploma (or letter of good standing indicating graduation date) from an approved Ontario Primary Care Paramedic training program.
  • MOHLTC AEMCA certification as a Primary Care Paramedic required or to be obtained within 210 days of graduation from a Paramedic Program.
  • Current certification as Primary Care Paramedic by regional base hospital program including required auxiliary medical directives (or must obtain within 1 month of hire)
  • Qualified for employment under Ontario Ambulance legislation.
  • Valid HCP CPR certification issued within the past calendar year required.
  • Current physical agility evaluation (PAE) (valid within 6 months) required.
  • Valid Class “F” driver’s license in good standing required.
  • Current Drivers Abstract required.
  • IV Certification
  • Vaccine preventable disease certificate signed by Physician as specified by the Ontario Ambulance Act required.
  • Ability to work under stressful situations and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work closely with entire healthcare team.

Hiring Salary Range: $43.957 - $46.754

  • The duration of this temporary position is approximately six (6) months.
