Responsibilities PRIMARY PURPOSE
Provides project management expertise and leads key streams on strategic Divisional projects working across functional teams. Manages different projects in the program portfolio, and spans projects in the planning phase, delivery, integration with operations, and post-handover support.
Key Accountabilities Plans, manages, executes, monitors, and closes assigned projects. Defines project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria in collaboration with project sponsors, stakeholders, and team members. This includes delivering projects in collaboration with various departments across the enterprise, in alignment with required operational teams, divisional strategy and departmental objectives.
Leads the strategic planning of the assigned projects, creating business cases/justifications and detailed project plans, determining success objectives and measurements, determining/adjusting the budget, resources, and stakeholders, preparing scope of work outlines, setting up the project timelines, workback schedule and review plan.
Identifies new opportunities and/or operational efficiencies based on data driven insights.
Analyzes and solves business problems by developing insightful, practical, and sustainable solutions to complex problem statements.
Manages assigned project specific resources, budget, schedule, quality, issues, and changes using best practices and standards as required and depending on project size and scope. Identifies risks and collaborates to remove program roadblocks and ensures projects adhere to corporate standards and policy requirements.
Supports strategic discussions and provides recommendations at various levels by presenting and reporting on project status, progress, issues / risks, expectations, timelines, milestones and key project metrics to project sponsors, stakeholders, team members, and senior leadership team on a regular basis. Delivers presentations, suggestions and recommendations to the senior leadership team on risk management and project delivery.
Coordinates & facilitates workshops and project meetings to evolve and elevate the project delivery. Interacts with business leaders to analyze and define the business policies and processes.
Manages cross-functional project teams, developing and maintaining a respectful and productive relationship with all stakeholders across the enterprise and ensures alignment across the stakeholders to move the project forward. Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of the project.
Ensures project deliverables meet the requirements and expectations of the project sponsors and internal and external stakeholders.
Provides coaching to the project team to build rigor and best practices into project execution.
Conducts project closure activities, such as lessons learned, documentation, handover, etc.
Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE
The competencies for this position would be acquired through completion of a post-secondary diploma in Business or other related discipline, along with a Project Management Certification (PMP) or working towards completion of PMP plus six (6) years of progressive operational and project experience, including exposure and knowledge of operations, business improvement processes, and life cycle Project Management, experience delivering complex strategic and/or transformational programs across cross-functional business areas.

Other Requirements Advanced knowledge of the principles, theories, concepts and practices of project management.
Proven problem-solving, strategic, and analytical capabilities to resolve critical and high impact issues, with a convincing track record of setting and delivering against key metrics.
Strong time management and organization skills to balance and coordinate effort across multiple, concurrent activities.
Excellent storytelling and written communication skills, the ability to succinctly, simply, and clearly explain tactical plans, expectations, and strategy to front-line teams and managers, as well as to your peers and supporting executives.
Advanced interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders; proven skills in stakeholder engagement and change management.
Solid technical skills in business and project management computer applications and databases.
Proficiency in creating PowerPoint presentations slides to present to stakeholder teams and senior leadership.
Passion for working in a dynamic culture with a strong focus on improving operations and the customer experience.
Other Information Our team is growing, and we are looking for a results-driven Project Manager to lead the enhancement of our Real-Time Transit Information System (RTIS). In this role, you’ll work across departments and with external partners to improve the accuracy, reliability, and user experience of RTIS for our customers and operational teams. You’ll manage the full project lifecycle—from planning to implementation—while driving stakeholder alignment, system integration, and performance monitoring. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how thousands of people move through our city every day!
Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.
Work Schedule 37.5 hours per week.
This is a full-time temporary position for 12 months.
Work Designation Hybrid
This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.
Rate of Pay The salary for this position ranges from $89,600 - $134,400 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
