About the role

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Head of Relationship Management, the primary purpose is to grow assets under administration by prospecting for and developing new relationships with investment advisors and their firms in Canada and the United States. You will develop relationships through a combination of in-person and virtual meetings.

In addition to and in collaboration with the Relationship Management team, you will be aiding in the idea generation that are essential components to the overall sales & marketing communications strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

85% Business Development

  • Liaising with existing prospects currently under development.
  • Developing new advisor relationships
  • Delivering business development campaigns and a regular contact program (calls, emails, seminar invitations, etc).
  • Utilizing modern technologies/techniques to drive sales activities
  • Maintaining a high level of contact activity and recording in CRM
  • Arranging prospect/client and advisor meetings.

15% Marketing Communications

  • Assist with the development of marketing campaigns/digital strategies and value-add initiatives for various distribution channels
  • Preparing or supporting in the preparation of marketing materials such as brochures, factsheets, presentations, direct mail initiatives, newsletters, etc.
  • Assist in coordinating events, branch meetings and conference calls
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape for best practices and competitive advantages
  • Help identify opportunities to improve Sales Team efficiencies (e.g. CRM Dashboards, reports)

EDUCATION/ACCREDITATION

  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field (Business, Finance, Economics)
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course and Conduct and Practices Handbook
  • Enrollment in Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program preferred

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIFIC SKILLS

  • 4+ years of client and/or advisor facing experience in investment sales, relationship or advisory role
  • Must have knowledge of ETFs and Separately Managed Accounts
  • Must have a proven ability to deliver a high level of client and advisor service
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must work well independently and within a team setting
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Extremely proactive and demonstrates a high degree of perseverance
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated; driven to exceed established goals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficient with firm software & MS Office Suite
  • Bilingual (English/French) would be considered an asset

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

  • International travel is required for this role - valid passport is required
  • Expectations are to be in office 4 days per week
