Terms: Part-Time, Permanent

Hours: 4-24 hours per week

Shift: Shifts times vary between mornings, afternoons, and

evenings

Start Date: September 8, 2025

Salary: 0-500 hours $18.39 per hour

501-1000 hours $18.94 per hour

1001 – 1500 hours $19.51 per hour

1500 + hours $20.10 per hour

Reports To: Supervisor, Child, Youth and Family

Nature & Scope

Our state- of-the-art centres of community offer a range of health, fitness, and aquatics programs for individuals and families.

Will report to the Supervisor, Child, Youth and work collaboratively with other members of the YMCA team to provide a safe and fun environment for our child, youth, and family programming and to provide a safe and welcoming experience in branch.

Major Responsibilities**-** in this position, you will**:**

  • Lead programs for children aged 0 to 12 years old in a positive and professional manner
  • Facilitate games and activities for various children’s programs to promote active and creative play
  • Build meaningful relationships with children, parents, YMCA members, visitors, and colleagues
  • Navigate challenging conflict situations using YMCA standards and procedures
  • Ensure program design, lay-out, and offerings meet the needs of all participants at various levels
  • Lead program delivery, while ensuring contents meet the appropriate criteria and outline
  • Strong work ethic and able to remain flexible
  • Perform general administrative duties and record keeping responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of all members, participants, staff, and property by following YMCA policies and ensuring they are maintained among all members and staff
  • Assist with training new staff/volunteers in procedures and practices
  • Provide exemplary customer service to all members, guests and participants in all program areas by providing facility tours and education on current program offerings relevant to the member/family

Qualification**-you bring:**

  • Current Standard First Aid certificate with CPR level C & AED (valid within 2 years)
  • Experience working with children - preferred
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service skills
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
