Responsibilities
· Coordinate and manage the most efficient loads to remain cost-effective as a company, combining shipments based on their routes and timeline
· Determine the best delivery methods and negotiate rates
· Facilitate the shipping of products from one destination to another
· Prepares loads for shipment
· Manages activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met
· Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates, and/or the prices of raw materials to keep costs down where possible
· Plan and track the shipment of final products according to the requirements
· Prepare accurate reports in requested system for upper management
· Data entry in company database for loads/items
· Relay information back to site supervisors if trucks are delayed or change in schedule.
· Communicate with drivers, vendors, managers, customers, and other dispatchers;
· Carrying out tasks on other assigned projects as needed
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on experience in logistics operations within Canada
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (intermediate level)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Familiarity with local shipment tracking and tracing processes
- Competitive ability: Exhibits excellent organizational skills in fast pace environment
- Must have a very high level of attention to detail and accuracy Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines
- Familiar with customs clearance will be an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
