WHAT ON EARTH IS DECIEM? Known as “The Abnormal Beauty Company”, DECIEM is the parent company of The Ordinary, NIOD, and other beauty brands & is an industry disruptor with a science first approach to innovation. DECIEM was Co-Founded in 2013 by the late Brandon Truaxe, a visionary who set out to change the beauty industry through authenticity and transparency. He developed DECIEM to be a happy family (of people and beauty brands), rooted in kindness, creativity, diversity, and respect, alongside Co-Founder, Nicola Kilner.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR As the Head of Paid Media - Global, you will be a pivotal leader responsible for defining and executing the global paid media strategy for DECIEM's brands, The Ordinary and NIOD. We are looking for a strategic visionary with deep expertise in performance marketing, a passion for innovation, and a proven ability to drive significant ROI across diverse global markets with changing market dynamics. You will lead and empower a high-performing team, cultivate critical agency and regional partnerships, and champion cross-functional collaboration to optimize our global footprint.
This is a hybrid role based two days a week out of our Liberty Village, Toronto office .
WHAT YOU'D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
- Develop, own, and execute the overarching paid media strategy (search, social, display, video, programmatic) for The Ordinary and NIOD across 7 global DTC markets
- Establish and lead a governance framework with regional brand directors, influencing paid media strategies for key retailers (e.g., Sephora, Ulta, Amazon) and ensure cohesive global initiatives and strategically optimize budget allocation between DTC and retailer channels for maximum business performance
- Cultivate an Optimized Global Footprint: Strategize, build, and maintain a fully optimized, multi-language global paid digital media presence, accounting for performance, cultural nuances, and market dynamics
- Manage a substantial global media budget, strategically steering budget shifts based on performance insights, market nuances, and evolving business priorities
- Implement rigorous tracking, comprehensive reporting, and continuous improvement strategies across critical metrics (ROAS, CLTV, CPA, CVR, Revenue)
- Champion a culture of continuous A/B testing and experimentation across audiences, creative, messaging, and platforms to identify and scale winning strategies
- Champion a highly differentiated and personalized creative approach for all paid media initiatives by collaborating closely with platform partners, brand, and creative teams to ensure seamless alignment of paid, email, and web content, leveraging advanced CDP capabilities for hyper-relevant messaging and product delivery
- Serve as the leader for all external paid media agencies, establishing clear performance expectations, overseeing execution, meticulously managing budgets, and fostering high-impact, innovation-driven strategic partnerships
- Build and nurture robust relationships with senior leaders across Email, Social, Brand, Design, and SEO teams to create seamless, end-to-end customer flows and maximize organic and paid search performance
- Proactively identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging media channels, cutting-edge technologies, and industry best practices. Strategically propose and lead test pilots and new market expansions to ensure Deciem remains at the forefront of digital advertising innovation and captures new growth opportunities.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- 8+ years of progressive leadership in global digital paid media, with a proven track record of managing significant budgets and driving ROI in fast-paced DTC/retail environments (beauty/CPG preferred)
- Deep expertise in managing paid media strategies for both DTC and major retailers, understanding unique channel dynamics.
- Expert knowledge of all major paid media platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok, programmatic) including performance optimization.
- Proficiency in leveraging Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) for messaging, personalization, and customer journey optimization.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills; ability to translate complex data (ROAS, CLTV, CPA) into actionable insights for senior leadership. Demonstrated ability to drive A/B testing initiatives and a continuous improvement mindset.

DECIEM is a humble and happy umbrella of good beauty brands like NIOD, Hylamide, and The Ordinary. We've been called every good and bad thing you can think of like "the most thrilling thing to happen to skincare", and "the hottest beauty company right now".
Over the past year, we've sold more than one product every second, opened the doors to our 35th store, and welcomed our 1000th employee. DECIEM was founded in 2013 by "the beauty world's most exciting disrupter", Brandon Truaxe. During a four-month co-op at a skincare lab, he became angry at the lack of passion, transparency, or insight when beauty products were being developed. After selling his first software company, many years later, Brandon's frustration at the beauty industry remained and he set off to make a change in the beauty business.
That change is DECIEM and we're working really hard to continue Brandon's vision for a better world of beauty. Everything we do is of exceptional quality.
