The City of Edmonton's Service Review and Improvement (SRI) team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Lead to lead rigorous service reviews, ensuring our services are community-focused, collaborative, open, efficient, and progressive. What will you do?

  • Lead Service Review and Improvement projects across various city departments and services
  • Develop project plans, deliverables, and timelines collaboratively with stakeholders
  • Identify and engage key stakeholders through comprehensive reviews
  • Develop engagement plans
  • Identify and resolve information gaps
  • Design and collect insightful information using diverse methods (discussions, interviews, surveys, research)
  • Analyze and interpret various data types (HR, risk, performance, financial) to understand root causes and develop and support recommendations
  • Apply expertise in customer experience and service design
  • Coordinate with other corporate service teams for data collection and analysis
  • Challenge existing processes to align services with City's Corporate Drivers
  • Develop feasible business cases and recommendations that improve customer experience while incorporating other priorities and constraints
  • Calculate necessary human and financial resources for proposed outcomes
  • Present recommendations to Executive Leadership Team (ELT) Committees in conjunction with the Manager
  • Provide leadership and oversight to methods analysts within the project team
  • Additional related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Engineering, or other related field
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in project management, including leading large, complex service-oriented projects (preferably in the public sector), completing service reviews/evaluations, and leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • 5+ years of experience managing and providing leadership to a project team

Assets:

  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

Skills required for success:

  • Experience in strategy, business planning, financial/operational analysis, and performance reporting
  • Strong project management, communication (verbal and written), and independent judgment skills
  • Ability to effectively interact, influence, build relationships, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficient in conflict resolution, negotiation, relationship development, and Google applications

Conditions of employment and work environment:

  • 1 permanent full-time position; 1 full-time temporary position for up to 11 months
  • Hours of work: 36.9 hours per week, Monday - Friday
  • Salary: $105,668.310 - $132,083.940 (Annually)
  • This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite
  • This position is eligible for the EDO program (Earned Day Off)
  • Management and Out-of-Scope positions at the City of Edmonton are being reviewed for possible inclusion in the Civic Service Union 52 bargaining unit. If this position is impacted, the incumbent will be notified accordingly
