About the Role:

You’ll report directly to the General Manager while primarily providing key support to our retail and wholesale sales staff in the Sporting Goods department. Your focus will be on aligning staff, processes, and product offerings to deliver an exceptional in-store and online experience for our customers. This role requires a balance of hands-on retail leadership, strong data and Excel skills, and a sharp eye for inventory management.

You’ll take ownership of the Sporting Goods department—leading by example, building relationships with staff, customers and vendors, and helping to drive both sales performance and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Continuously look for ways to improve systems, processes, and customer engagement to help Long Range Outdoors be a leader in our market

  • Lead and inspire the retail sales team to deliver outstanding customer experience

  • Strategically manage inventory to minimize obsolescence and boost product turnover

  • Oversee merchandise layout and presentation within the sporting goods section

  • Collaborate with the General Manager to set, track, and achieve sales goals

  • Align marketing efforts with broader business objectives to grow our in-store and online presence

  • Support e-commerce activities, including updates to our website

  • Take on additional duties as assigned by the General Manager

What You Bring to the Table:

  • A strong working knowledge of inventory management

  • Aptitude for learning new technology

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

  • Self-motivated with a passion for retail sales

  • A love for the outdoors—you would describe yourself as an outdoor enthusiast

  • Commitment to continual improvement and growth of your team

  • A sound understanding of the importance of exceptional customer service

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in a relevant field

  • Proven retail management experience

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Solid experience with inventory management, turns, and the ordering process

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office Suite

  • Experience with e-commerce platforms and online sales is an asset
