Position: Sulzer Flat Loom Fixer/Industrial Loom Technician Trainee
Location: Truro, NS

Position Summary:
Are you skilled in maintaining and repairing industrial machinery? Join our team as a Loom Fixer Trainee! You'll ensure our looms run smoothly, perform preventive maintenance, and help our crew operate safely and efficiently.
Shift Schedule:
- 12-hour rotational shifts: 8 am - 8 pm and 8 pm - 8 am
- Work 36 hours for two weeks and 48 hours the next, averaging 40 hours per week
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read diagrams and schematics to determine work procedures
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and propose corrective actions
- Maintain and repair loom parts using hand and power tools
- Inspect machinery to detect and fix irregularities
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning
- Assemble machinery and equipment
- Conduct warp-outs and style changes as needed
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to implement production changes and train new employees
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Vocational training in industrial machinery repair, Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, Welding, Fitting, or textile-specific training in Weaving or machinery repair
- 1+ year experience as a loom fixer or in a similar industrial manufacturing role
- Strong electro-mechanical skills
- Good mathematical ability
- Experience in quality assurance and troubleshooting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Sulzer flat looms is an asset
