About the role

Orthopaedic Surgeon (200-1603)

Join our dynamic team in the beautiful Cowichan Valley! We are seeking a skilled Orthopaedic Surgeon for a locum(duration of locum flexible)position with subspecialty expertise and fellowship training in comprehensive foot and ankle reconstruction and foot and ankle trauma.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Elective Surgery: 0.5 days per week
  • Orthopaedic Outpatient Clinic (Cast Clinic): 0.5 day per week
  • Office Work: 1 days per week
  • On-call Responsibilities : 1 in 5 weekends and 5 days per month – additional call may be available if desired.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Subspecialty interest in Foot and Ankle Reconstruction.

About Cowichan District Hospital

The Cowichan District Hospital, a 134-bed acute care facility, enjoys an exceptionally collegial atmosphere amongst the general and specialty medical staff. It provides full-service orthopaedic surgery care as a Level 2 Centre, excluding pelvic trauma, hand trauma, and spine trauma. Our multidisciplinary team covers all orthopaedic subspecialties, including Upper Extremity, Sports-Shoulder, Total Joint (Hip & Knee), Foot & Ankle, and Extremity Trauma, with the exception of Spine. Work alongside experienced colleagues in a collaborative, supportive environment.
