About the role

The Plant Manager - Liquid Fertilizer is responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations and logistics of our high-end liquid fertilizer facility located Northwest of Wilkie SK. This role will oversee the transfer of incoming and outgoing liquid fertilizer, general maintenance of equipment and coordination with retail locations and custom applications team. The Plant Manager role must be able to uphold all safety standards, manage both inventory and budgets, and maintain strong relationships in support of operational excellence

Position Responsibilities**:**

  • Oversee transfer of liquid fertilizer (incoming and outgoing) and maintain transfer pumps
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with retail and custom application divisions
  • Unload railcars in accordance with company procedures
  • Perform regular maintenance and upkeep of yard, equipment and infrastructure
  • Ensure all safety regulations and procedures are strictly followed
  • Track inventory accurately and enter data as per company procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Budgetary experience required, with the ability to manage and report on operational costs
  • Previous experience in the agriculture industry considered a strong asset
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and compliance in an industrial/agriculture setting
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons, as needed
  • Able and willing to work at heights and in inclement climate
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license with own transportation
  • Must reside in or close to Wilkie SK

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical issues
  • Self-directed and self-motivated; able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and basic accounting practices
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to upholding "The Rack" yard and equipment standards
  • Ability to push, pull and lift heavy objects < 50lbs
  • Experience with a variety of computer software is a preference
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
