OPSEU-PARAMEDICAL REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSES (25-0000534)

Bargaining Unit: OPSEU
Department: Community Support
Site: St. Joseph's Health Centre
Status: Part Time TEMPORARY
Shifts: Days/Evenings including weekends
Rate of Pay: $34.86 - $35.30 per hour

Qualifications:

  • Currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario

  • Scope of Practice must include physical assessment and pharmacology

  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid Certificates

  • Experience working with people with a serious mental illness and an intellectual disability and/or concurrent addiction issues

  • Extensive knowledge, skills and experience in community assessment, psychosocial rehabilitation and treatment, crisis management and recovery

  • Candidates with past community experience in providing personal and clinical support to clients an asset

  • Excellent skills in reasoning, problem-solving, decision making and workload organization

  • Excellent communication (verbal, non-verbal, written) and interpersonal skills

  • Willingness to travel and provide own reliable transportation

  • Demonstrated attendance at work and adherence to SJCG Principles of Conduct

  • This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.

  • Offers of employment made to external candidates are conditional upon providing proof of COVID-19 vaccination as per the SJCG Immunization Policy IMS-04-005or proof of valid medical exemption, prior to the offered effective date. If proof of vaccination or valid medical exemption is not provided, the offer of employment is rescinded.
