About the role
We are seeking a bold, strategic, and execution-oriented Head of Global Expansion to lead our efforts in identifying, entering, and scaling operations in international markets. As a key member of the leadership team, you will design and operationalize our international growth strategy, create scalable go-to-market (GTM) playbooks, and lay the foundation for long-term success in each region. This role requires a mix of analytical rigor, operational excellence, and cross-cultural leadership.
What you'll do
- Conduct in-depth market assessments to prioritize countries and regions for expansion.
- Develop business cases for market entry, incorporating customer needs, competitive dynamics, regulatory environments, and operational feasibility.
- Define entry strategies including, partnerships, hiring plans, and localized product positioning.
- Secure internal alignment and resources for each launch.
- Build and refine repeatable market entry playbooks that balance standardization with local adaptation.
- Establish early-stage operational processes and performance tracking systems in new markets.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Sales, Medical Team, HR, Marketing, Customer Support/Success) to ensure launch-readiness.
- Manage budgets and timelines for market launches.
- Hire, lead, and inspire high-performing local and regional expansion teams.
- Ensure high-quality, localized translations across all supported languages and markets, coordinating closely with Product, Marketing, Customer Support, and Sales teams to maintain accuracy, cultural relevance, and brand consistency.
- Build the long-term structure of international operations, transitioning from launch mode to sustained growth mode.
- Report directly to the executive team and provide regular updates on expansion progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Act as the internal voice of international customers and partners.
- Collaborate with product and service teams to prioritize localization and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Required
- 7-10+ years of experience in business expansion, international operations, consulting, or general management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role driving geographic growth.
- Demonstrated success in launching and scaling operations in multiple international markets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort in ambiguous and fast-moving environments.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level presentation experience.
- Experience developing and operationalizing global playbooks and GTM frameworks.
Preferred
- Experience in a startup or high-growth company, ideally in SaaS, healthcare, marketplaces, or platform business models.
- Fluency in one or more non-English languages.
- Willingness to travel frequently (including internationally) as needed.
