About the role
Tacten is seeking Rope Access JP CWB Welders to join our team for our Fall Outage in the Fort McMurray area. As a JP Welder, you will be a key member of our team responsible for executing high-altitude tasks with precision, efficiency, and safety.
Position Information
- Fall Outage
- Outage duration September 4th, 2025 - October 19, 2025
- 6/1 rotation, 12 hour shifts
- IRATA Level 1 required, or willingness to obtain.
- Fly-in-fly-out from all major hubs in Canada
- Camp provided
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine welding requirements
- Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding techniques and materials
- Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and beveling as necessary
- Perform welding operations using shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), or other welding processes
- Monitor and adjust welding parameters to ensure weld quality and adherence to specifications
- Inspect welded joints for defects and perform corrective actions as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures while performing welding tasks
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store welding equipment and materials
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and according to requirements
- Journeyman Welding Certification required
- CWB Certification required
- IRATA Level 1 required, or willingness to obtain.
- Current safety tickets as per provincial standards
Safety Certifications
- OSSA BSO or OSSA CSO required
