What you will achieve in the role
As a Sr. Solution Designer you will design complex and enterprise-wide initiatives involving multiple back-end systems. You will be responsible for the functional design of solutions within a variety of technical platforms. You will lead planning and strategy for technical design, development and integration of these solutions
- Design & Develop: Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities. Understand and facilitate gathering of the Business requirements and translate them into design specifications to be used by the delivery and operation teams. Document the designs and patterns and maintain the application's technical functionality, infrastructure, database, interfaces and integrations artefacts. Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet business objectives and also maintain and enhance existing applications.
- Technology Roadmap: Develop 1-3 year technology roadmaps to align with the corporation’s overall vision & strategy. Spearhead multiple complex projects involving strategic solutions, new technologies and innovations.
- Strong Leadership: Act as the lead designer, and interface with the project teams by arranging and moderating design review sessions to walk stakeholders through and ensure that the overall design aligns with business and project requirements as well as architectural directions. Support and mentor other designers, and developers through knowledge sharing, collaboration and effective problem solving.
What you will bring to the role
- Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Solution Designer or in a similar role.
- Experience with
Azure storage
- strategy, design, connectivity, syncing and integration with Power BI.
- Experience with SQL Server and ETL .
- Strong knowledge Agile methodology, SOA Design Patterns, REST API and Web Services Data services
- Experience with Data Governance, SSRS , Tableau, Salesforce, Alteryx, MS Power Platform will be an asset.
- Good understanding of End User Computing and productivity applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with end-users, business teams and technology teams
- Expertise to gather requirements, create design specifications, discuss the pros & cons of different solutions and present your design to senior management and architects.
- Good understanding of security concepts (SAML, JWT, Single-Sign-On), infrastructure (VM and Cloud), capacity, continuity, high availability and other non-functional capabilities.
- Highly motivated and resourceful with the ability to manage multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with internal and external partners to integrate, utilize or provide services.
